PHASES OF THE SOUTH-BEACH DIET PLAN:

The first thing you have to do is get rid of all carbohydrates from your diet. Bread, rice and all wheat products are prohibited and you have to focus on eating lean-protein meals such as seafood and soy products. Alongside lean proteins, you can also eat high-fiber vegetables and low-fat dairy goods, but cut out on fruits in the first phase as well.
You will have to slowly add back some of the foods that you had cut out in the first phase. Such as rice, bread, and pasta. Small amounts of these foods will be added back to your diet while keeping a close check on your weight so you know when you will reach your goal weight. Until then, you will be in this phase of dieting.
As the maintenance phase, this is simply for you to keep a check on yourself whether you are following the previous two phases or not. You have to keep a close check on your diet, following between Phase 1 and Phase 2, so you stay consistent and keep working towards your goal weight.
