WHAT IS CBD?

In simple, CBD is a short form for cannabidiol, which is one of the most active cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. CBD has no psychoactive properties also it does not cause high feelings unlike tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). But CBD has a number of other properties that found to be very effective and useful in treating several conditions which include the main problem of back pain. According to many types of research now it has proven to be safe and natural to be used.

Even the FDA (food and drug administration) of the United States has recognized cannabidiol CBD as a dietary supplement. Due to this, there are now several of the different products which are based on CBD are available to buy at the markets and online stores with the aim of helping with chronic pain and relieving for other ailments.

HOW DOES CBD HELP TO EASE BACK PAIN?

the cycle works in this way, actually, CBD in CBD oil inhibits neuronal transmission found in pain pathways. It also helps to reduce inflammation which is said to be another natural response that can lead to pain, also CBD significantly reduces neuropathic pain and by increasing the level of serotonin in a person’s body, and ensures effective pain management. As it doesn’t matter whether a person ingests CBD oil directly, or in an edible or may apply it directly to the skin. it gives essential results and all the methods have the same results.

Ingesting CBD oil is the same as taking an aspirin. A person gets an over-all reduction from pain. The problem is that it may not be enough to give you relief from the pain. While on the other hand, rubbing CBD oil directly over your skin on the affected area like a message. By this way, you can focus the pain and get relief from the pain in that specific area until the pain is completely gone.

COMMON CAUSES OF BACK PAIN:

The intervertebral discs are the cartilage discs that are located between in the vertebrae in the spinal cord of our body. It has a purpose to absorb shocks before it reaches the vertebrae and also improves the mobility of our spine. But when these intervertebral discs become degenerated due to this they cause havoc for those who suffer. Due to this, it is considered that when the degeneration of these discs can be the cause of chronic pain and neck pain.

And while it is being recorded that around 25% of the population, people go burdened by the uncontested signs of the degeneration of IVD.

Also, with this, some of the contributing factors which include oxygen deficiency, lack of essential sugar level and water, aging and inflammation of the painful region are considered as the main causes of degeneration of the intervertebral discs. According to the institution of the medicine of national academics, that about an estimated 100 million people live with this chronic pain and with chronic back pain. And medical researchers are finding a safe solution for this.

CBD AND THE ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM:

When it comes to the interaction of CBD with the body, it has an affecting interaction with the receptors that lie within our body’s endocannabinoid system. The Endocannabinoid system is an important integral part which is responsible for maintaining our body’s overall health. It has 3 of its components which are:

  • CANNABINOID RECEPTORS:

These receptors are found in throughout our body, including in our liver, lungs, and kidney. When there is a condition within the cell change, these receptors have the responsibility to transmit the information about the transformation. Due to this, they initiate the correct cell response. The first two cannabinoid receptors to be discovered are the CB1 and CB2. The CB1 receptors are found in our brain. While CB2 receptors are found most commonly outside the nervous system. But both can be found in our whole body as well.

  • ENDOCANNABINOIDS:

These are tiny molecules which are naturally produced in our body. There are two main types of endocannabinoids which are, anandamide and 2-AG. Both are made from the molecules which are found within our cell membrane. Hence there is no need to store them unnecessarily in our body like various other biological molecules.

  • METABOLIC ENZYMES:

Metabolic enzymes are the final key components of the endocannabinoid system. Which are the responsibility to destroy used endocannabinoids? There are two biggest metabolic enzymes which are FAAH and MAGL. Whereas FAAH has the responsibility to break down any anandamide within our body. While the MAGL has the responsibility to break down any 2-AG. Hence this makes way different them from other molecules in our body due to their unique properties of endocannabinoids.

EFFECTIVE METHODS OF CBD FOR BACK PAIN:

CBD OIL:

This method is common and probably the most widely used method of all the CBD products because of its potency. Hence CBD oil comes in various forms but the most popular form which is used is tinctured. As this is preferred and most recommended by many as tinctures are easy to carry around to anywhere and it is easy to administer, and it is effective. Also, they are concentrated and considered as the strongest form of CBD oil. The simple way to take is to place a couple of drops under your tongue as this method is considered the fastest way to get into our bloodstreams. The only downside of the tinctures is the taste, this is the reason many people prefer and like to put a couple of the drops in a drink instead of taking it directly. If this makes you uncomfortable you can also take CBD oil tablets and take it commonly as you take any other tablet. It is also an effective way but takes slightly longer for you to digest.

CBD-BASED TOPICALS:

This method is also the most effective. It has been reported and recommended by many people especially those people that suffer from chronic back pain, reported that the topicals work wonders for them in easing their pain. This is the reason this method is most preferred. This may be because of the taste of CBD and or because they like the additional and more benefits than what topicals bring. All these topicals which are CBD based are easily available now in many stores and online stores, they usually come in various balms, lotions, and oils which help all the pain sufferers. The main difference between the topicals and other forms of CBD products is that most of them won’t breach our bloodstreams. And due to this they merely penetrate the CB-2 receptors of our body. Transdermal patches are an exception. These help to transport cannabinoids directly to the bloodstreams but could produce a psychoactive effect, depends if the THC content is high.

DOES CBD HAVE SIDE EFFECTS?

Studies have shown that CBD has little to no effect on the autonomic function of our body. For example, heart rate, body temperature, blood pressure, and respiration. But CBD does affect our salivary gland. This may be the major side effect such that the condition includes drying of the mouth. but the dry mouth is a small price to pay you from pain relief of any kind for this reason you might not even consider this as a side effect. But it is an unintended consequence of using CBD oil so for this reason, this must be informed that it may happen. Plus, if you apply CBD oil directly to your skin such that onto your back then the dry mouth side can happen. But if you ingest it, then chances are that your mouth may get dry. Or it has other side effects too like nausea, irritability, or sleeping issues but does not pose any significant risks for the CBD users.

Another side effect is that CBD inhibits liver enzymes from metabolizing. So, it has been said that only ingesting CBD oil will have chances of dry mouth side effects but if you rub it onto your skin have fewer chances of dry mouth or it won’t.

FINAL VERDICT:

So, after all the information shared in this article we will say you, yes, CBD will actually help you out if you are looking for the solution for your back pain, as it has limited and no significant side effects. Also, CBD oil is extremely versatile as it can be eaten, can be applied to your skin, or can be taken sublingually and give you the best the results. but it is recommended that first consult your health specialist and doctor before you use or apply CBD oil.
