Obesity is the condition in which larger amount of fat is stored in a person’s body by which he is getting overweight. So, to know the amount of extra fat accumulated in the body thus it is measured by the Body Mass Index of a person (BMI). BMI is calculated by dividing your weight in kilograms with the height in meters squared. The values that are considered for obese patients are when a person with BMI 25-29 is considered as overweight and the person with a BMI between 30 and 40 are considered as obese. Obesity if not treated than it will lead to various life threatening diseases like diabetes, heart diseases, some varieties of cancer, stroke etc. obesity can occur of all ages. Sometimes it is genetic and environmental factors can also be considered. Over consumption of more calories without any diet restriction and relaxing lifestyle are the major cause for obesity. The main symptoms of obesity includes increase in waistline is a remarkable symptom of obesity


Obesity is mainly caused due to unrestricted food habits or overeating. As most of the people consumes more food than his body requirement for a longer duration of time. So the excess fat is stored in the body and it gives the appearance of fatty person. Absence of any physical work and inactiveness leads to an obesity. Diet is also a factor for obesity.

 It is possible to control obesity or get rid off obesity by using various herbal remedies.

 Lime juice-honey: Lime juice mixed with honey is very effective home remedy for reducing weight in losing the weight of the person .It is prepared by taking one teaspoon of honey  and half lime  put them in one glass of lukewarm water mixed them and drink it daily in early morning.

Cabbage: It is mainly rich in vitamin C but low in calories, higher fibrous and water content Cabbage is very useful home remedy for fast weight loss. Cabbage contains a substance tartaric acid which stops conversion of carbohydrates and sugar into fat. Intake of cabbage in replacement to meals is well known best home remedy to lose weight. Cabbage can be taken in raw form or can be boiled for losing weight.

Tomato: It is a rich source in vitamins A, C, and K, magnesium, manganese, choline, folate, and also other nutrients. It is also antioxidants. Tomato home remedy for reducing weight is also very beneficial home remedy for obesity. Tomatoes taking in breakfast in replacement of meals helps to lose weight because its seeds are rich in fibrous substance also effects appetite.

Papaya: Papaya is very useful home remedy for reducing weight fast. Skipping the dinner and taking papaya in juice form for two to three months is effective to lose weight.

Ginger: Ginger is also very helpful weight loss home remedy. Taking ginger before meals decreases the weight of a person. It can be taken with lemon juice mixed with salt.

Finger millet: Finger millet is herbal remedy for reducing weight mainly rich in calcium, phosphorous, iron, vitamin b1, vitamin b2. It is very slow in digestion hence it reduces the intake of calories. Soaked leaves in water can drink in the morning on empty stomach for one or more month is useful .Thus a person don’t eat much and hence it helps to reduce the weight  of a person.

Aloe Vera: is very useful herbal remedy for obesity. As it works by stimulating the metabolism, by increasing the energy consumption, and also move the unused fat in the body. It contains natural collagen proteins which make the body work harder so that to absorb the proteins. Along with it also helps to remove toxins from the digestive system.
